r-ventures 3.0 concludes with an investment of more than 8 crore taka for 8 start-ups

Dhaka, 6 March 2023: Robi’s flagship digital entrepreneurship platform, r-ventures 3.0 has been concluded with the holding of the Grand Finale program at the Capital’s Sheraton Hotel yesterday evening.

Following a thorough screening process, a total of 11 digital start-ups took part in the Grand Finale. 4 digital start-ups received more than 2 crore taka worth investment from RedDot Digital Limited, a subsidiary IT company of Robi Axiata Ltd and sponsor of r-ventures private equity fund. SBK Tech Ventures and Angel Investor, Kaniz Almas Khan have also pledged to invest 3 and a half crore taka in 4 start-ups beside RedDot Digital Ltd. Startup Bangladesh Limited, the Venture Capital Fund of ICT Division also pledged to invest a total of two and a half crores taka to the start-ups.

Attending the program as a chief guest, ICT State Minister, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the investment cheque to the entrepreneurs. Robi's Chief Commercial Officer, Shihab Ahmad, Reddot Digital’s CEO, Hasib Mustabsir, r-venture 3.0 officials, investors and media personnel were also present on the occasion.

ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak said, “I would like to congratulate to all the start-ups who took part in the r-ventures 3.0 grand finale. In the process of building a Smart Bangladesh, entrepreneurs like you will play the pivotal role. Bangladesh will lead the world in the future with your innovative ideas. I also thank Robi for working as a friend in our journey to build Digital Bangladesh, I hope they will be by our side in building Smart Bangladesh.”

Robi, SBK Tech Ventures and Startup Bangladesh Limited agreed to invest one crore 50 lakhs taka to Digi Dokaan Limited from ecommerce and retail; SBK Tech Ventures, Robi and Kaniz Almas Khan 1 Crore 25 Lakh in HishabPlus from Fintech; 2 crore from SBK Tech Ventures and Robi in Jomma and SBK Tech Ventures and Kaniz Almas Khan have announced an investment of. Uqeel got investment of 1 crore taka in from Legal Tech sector. In addition, Robi has announced an investment of 25 lakhs taka to Drishti from Assistive Technology. Startup Bangladesh declared to invest 50 lakhs taka each and 1 crore taka respectively to ANTT Robotics from Software & Technology sector, YOUR-Campus from Consumer Services and Fabric Lagbe Ltd from Garments Tech.

At the same time, ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak has announced an investment of 10 lakh taka from the ICT Division to all the top 11 teams including Mile from GreenTech/Mobility, Recycle Jar Ecosystem from Circular economy/Cleantech and Relaxy Limited - health tech industry.

The ideas were selected based on the strength and uniqueness of concept, business model, financial projections, and overall impact into the society.

Robi organized the first phase of r-ventures in 2017 with a view to building digital entrepreneurship among its employees. In view of that success, the company launched r-ventures 2.0 in 2019 providing opportunities to everyone aspiring to become a digital entrepreneur.
