bdtickets launches up to 1 lakh taka travel insurance facility

Dhaka, 08 October 2020: Country’s largest online ticketing service, bdtickets has launched up to 1 lakh taka travel insurance facility for customers. The platform has brought the first ever ‘COVID Travel Insurance’ in Bangladesh in case of a travelver gets affected by Covid-19 virus within seven days of travel.

Being the forerunner in the online ticketing industry, bdtickets has come up with 5 different coverages including Accidental Death Coverage, Natural Death Coverage, Accidental Hospitalization, Trauma Allowance and Covid travel insurance.

The service can be availed if customers pay 10 taka premium per ticket with a 7 days insurance coverage period from the date of bus, launch or air journey as mentioned on the ticket.

The Covid-19 affected person shall be entitled to claim insurance coverage of 5,000 taka provided that the test is conducted by a valid MBBS doctor along with other required documents.

If the covered person dies due to a natural or an accidental reason during the journey, the legal nominee of the covered person shall be entitled to claim the Natural Death Coverage of 25,000 taka and Accidental death coverage benefit of 1 lakh taka.

For any accidental hospitalization due to an accidental injury while traveling with a ticket purchased from bdtickets, the customer shall be entitled to get a coverage up to 25,000 taka as per the special provisions and type of accident. Customers can claim insurance coverage up to 10,000 taka for any drowning, hijack, robbery or scam induced trauma.

Insurance claims can be submitted using the dedicated online claim form by providing necessary information and by attaching relevant claim documents, i.e. scanned images, clear photographs of the medical and other relevant documents.
