Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited signed an agreement on Sunday with Zero Clubfoot (ZFC), a nonprofit health project of Lion Mukhlesur Rahman Foundation, to further extend its clubfoot treatment under its corporate social responsibility.
Robi Executive Vice President Mahmudur Rahman and Chairman of Lion Mukhlesur Rahman Foundation Ln. Md Nader Khan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. As per the agreement Robi & Zero Clubfoot will provide free clubfoot treatment in Chittagong region.
The treatment will be available in Lion Mukhlesur Rahman Plastic Surgery Hospital, Ramu Upazilla Health Complex, Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital, Feni Sadar Hospital, Comilla Medical College Hospital, Noakhali Sadar Hospital, Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital, Chandpur Sadar Hospital and Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.
Every year in Bangladesh an estimated 5000 children are born with a clubfoot deformity. Most of them do not receive any treatment required for this deformation at all. It is believed that there is little hope of eliminating club foot deformity while a large group of children remain untreated. Robi took this initiative for the children who could not live a normal life because of clubfoot.
Robi want to set free those poor children from the curse of handicap which can be cured.”
