Leading mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited has launched a new campaign aimed at enabling community participation in contributing to socio economic development. The campaign titled “Ebar hobei (It will happen this time) stipulates opportunities for the mobile phone subscribers to contribute to different projects that can have positive impacts in the development of local communities.

The campaign was unveiled by the Managing Director and CEO of Robi Axiata Limited, Michael Kuehner, at a press briefing in the capital today (Tuesday). Chief Market Officer of Robi, Pradeep Shrivastava presented details of the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Michael Kuehner stressed that Robi, being a customer centric operator, is always in the quest for enriching lives of the common people by offering them the opportunities to expose their power and resources within to develop themselves. “The Ebar Hobei campaign will inspire the people of Bangladesh to see beyond the traditional use of mobile technology and help unleash the power within the individuals to bring about a change”, he added. Michael further mentioned that this initiative would showcase how mobile telecommunication facility can be an effective tool for propelling social development and added that Robi is proud to have a pioneering role in this regard.
While explaining different elements of the campaign, Chief Market Officer Pradeep Shrivastava said that the underlying theme is to enable the collective efforts of the people to materialize different social welfare projects within their own localities.
He said that the campaign would help build the spirit of togetherness and allow seamless interactions for accomplishing as many desired tasks. He stated that this initiative was aimed at supporting any social cause within the community like building a mosque, temple, school, health care center, library or even a local sports club. “This unique innovative application of digital services will empower the local communities to strengthen their bondage and inspire them to redefine their own lives by creating a strong platform, to pursue diverse development goals”, he added.
Robi’s Chief Financial Officer Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Chief Human Resource Officer Matiul Islam Nowshad, Chief Technology Officer AKM Morshed, Chief Strategy Officer Yoshishige Hasegawa, Executive Vice President Market Operations Zabid Ahsan, Vice President, Market Operations, Barna Ahmad and Vice President - Communications & Media Relations Mohiuddin Babar were present along with other top officials of the company at the press briefing.
